This past Saturday at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in Cerritos, California, the Phoenix of Philadelphia, Ms. Patti LaBelle performed a spot date at the venue to kick off their fall season. Armed with her legendary pipes, Patti went through her vast discography and of course performed one of her timeless classics "You Are My Friend."
While Patti has often talked about not wanting to perform "You Are My Friend" anymore and/or as much, due to the sentimentality the song holds for her with her late music director James "Budd" Ellison, it is a fan favorite that she often mixes with the classic "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."
