I was first introduced to artist on the rise Angel a few months ago when he put together a rather phenomenal mashup of The Fugee's take on the Roberta Flack classic "Killing Me Softly" with Dr. Dre's Eminem and Skylar Grey assisted "I Need A Doctor." Recorded in a barbershop with just an acoustic guitar and Angel's vocals, this mashup is a great introduction to the budding singer/songwriter who's been making a name for himself in the UK. After heading over to London for a few days for a showcase version of the upcoming musical adaptation of "The Bodyguard," Tony and Grammy Award winner Heather Headley and the production are now slated to open at West End’s Adelphi Theatre in November. Starring as Rachel Marron, Heather Headley will not only perform Houston's monumental hit "I Will Always Love You," from "The Bodyguard" soundtrack, but will also perform "Queen of the Night," "I Have Nothing," "Run To You," as well as "I'm Every Woman." In addition to those selected songs from "The Bodyguard" soundtrack, Headley will also cover several songs from Houston's discography including "I’m Your Baby Tonight," "Saving All My Love For You," "So Emotional," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "All the Man That I Need," "All at Once," "How Will I Know" and "One Moment In Time." Several months ago Dawn Richard performed her first solo show post Danity Kane and Dirty Money at the famed The Roxy with Mateo and Stacy Barthe. Whitney Houston's cover of The Four Tops' "I Believe in You and Me" became one of the many standards in the late songstress' repertoire and while we continue to mourn the loss of Houston, music is one of the ways to help us heal. With that said, Ahmed Sirour has recently put together a poignent and highly somber acoustic piano tribute cover of "I Believe in You and Me," which will certainly bring a tear to one's eye.
