While Guy Sebastian is getting ready to release his forthcoming eighth studio album Madness, I thought it would be nice to take a listen to his solid cover of The Staple Singers' classic joint "Respect Yourself."
Lifted from his covers album entitled The Memphis Album, Guy offers a smooth cover of the James Ingram co-written song and below you can check out Guy's live rendition of the thumping powerhouse joint.
Ahh, memories from 2008. Wonderful album, wonderful tour, with Steve Cropper, the late Duck Dunn, Steve Potts among the band. I saw the show many many times, being a huge fan of the original songs, the musicians, and the fabulous voice of Guy Sebastian.
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to see one show from this concert tour.Being a Steve Cropper & The MG's fan from way back,and a Guy Sebastian fan since he won Idol in 2003,this was a marriage made in heaven.Brilliant show.
