Live Clip: "You Got Me" (The Roots ft. Jill Scott & Erykah Badu)

Back in 2004, Dave Chappelle hosted a block party as a part of a documentary he was shooting at the time that footage from the concert and his summer of 2004 would eventually form the film Dave Chappelle's Block Party.

Taking place on September 18, 2004, when Dave threw a block party on the corner of Quincy Street and Downing Street in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City, one of the highlights from the concert and the accompanying documentary has to be when Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and The Roots shared the stage on the classic "You Got Me."

While Jill Scott originally wrote and sang the hook for "You Got Me, "when it was serviced to radio, her vocals were replaced with Badu's. Therefore, the performance from that September night with The Roots marked the first recorded time that Badu and Jill shared the stage and both prove why they are legends in their own right. Watch The Roots, Badu's and Jill's performance of "You Got Me" from Dave Chappelle's Block Party after the jump and Enjoy!
