Award Nominations: 2016 GRAMMY Awards

The 2016 GRAMMY Award nominations were announced earlier today and Kendrick Lamar leads this year's nominees with eleven total nominations. The Grammys return to L.A.'s Staples Center on Feb. 15, 2016 on CBS at 8pm EST. No host has been announced yet but you can get into all the award nominations below from the major 4 categories (Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist) to the R&B and Rap categories respectively.

Amazing Cover: "Be Free" (Faith Evans)

During BET's telecast of Black Girls Rock! 2015 and one of the highlight performance of the night came from the First Lady of R&B, Ms. Faith Evans who performed a riveting cover of J. Cole's "Be Free."

Lifted from J. Cole's latest album as a tribute to Ferguson, Faith's take of "Be Free" transformed the already powerful song from Cole into another heart wrenching testament. Watch Faith's performance below and soak in the message!

Podcast: "The Anatomy of a Clapback" (The BackBeat)

New Video: "No Sleeep" (Janet Jackson ft. J. Cole)

Earlier today, Janet Jackson released the official music video for her new single "No Sleeep," but instead of releasing a video for the song, she dropped it for her J. Cole assisted remix.

Giving us a "That's The Way Love Goes" vibe, the video is classic Janet. Get into it below and lookout for my review of it during the latest episode of The BackBeat, which will be out later tonight!

Remix: "No Sleeep" (Janet Jackson ft. J. Cole)

There had been murmurs of a possible collaboration between Janet Jackson and J. Cole following her attendance at J. Cole's Los Angeles concert stop earlier this week a the Staples Center and now the official remix to "No Sleeep" has hit the net with a solid verse from Cole.

Featuring a reference to Michael and a nod to Jay, J. Cole takes it up a notch on Janet's "comeback" single and you can take a listen to it below!

Remix: "Kind of…Sometimes…Maybe" (Jessie Ware ft. J. Cole)

Following his remix to Maroon 5’s “Animals,” J. Cole has been on a remix streak as of late and after putting his own stamp on Maroon 5's current hit single "Animals," he is back offering a feature on Jessie Ware's single "Kind of...Sometimes...Maybe."

Originally co-written by Miguel and BenZel, the original appears on Jessie's album Tough Love, which is in stores now and I am sure the J. Cole remix to "Kind of...Sometimes...Maybe" will add more interest to the project. Take a listen below to the new remixed joined and Enjoy!

Live Video of the Day: "Crooked Smile" (J. Cole ft. Jennifer Hudson)

Last week during Vh1's Do Something Awards, J. Cole teamed up with honoree Jennifer Hudson to perform a powerful rendition of his current single "Crooked Smile," off of his sophomore LP Born Sinner. With that said, the video finally hit the net earlier today and you can watch it go down after the jump!

Set: "Philly 4th of July Jam" (The Roots, Jill Scott)

Philly showed up and showed out this past Fourth of July on Vh1's live telecast of Philly 4th of July Jam that was presented by The Roots and featured the likes of Ms. Jill Scott, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, DJ Jazzy Jeff, country newcomer Hunter Hays, J. Cole, John Mayer, and Ne-Yo. Hosted by Philly's own Kevin Hart, Jill Scott was obviously the highlight for me in addition to The Roots opening set and for fans of any of the aforementioned musical acts, you can watch the entire Philly 4th of July Jam in its entirety after the jump!

During the latest stop of Alicia Keys' Set the World on Fire tour at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Miguel who is a special guest of Keys' tour brought out K. Cole during his set and the two performed Cole's latest single "Power Trip" for the first time live. With that said, peep Miguel and J. Written by Sia, the uptempo dance joint features fellow Roc Nation labelmate J. Cole, who drops two verses on the uptempo joint. Melanie Fiona debuted her video for "This Time" yesterday on BET's "106 & Park." Though the song centers on a second chance at a relationship, Melanie flipped the script for the visual and focused it on time instead of a typical relationship themed video. Melanie Fiona recently dropped the official behind the scenes feature for her forthcoming visual for her new single "This Time" which features  J. Cole. Lifted from Melanie's sophomore album "The MF Life," "This Time" is one of the standout joints from the set and I am glad that it is getting the official visual and single treatment. After releasing a full preview of her forthcoming live dvd, Beyonce has now dropped an official behind the scenes look at the video she shot and recently released for one of her current singles "Party." Though the songstress has been making limited promotional appearances as of late due to her pregnancy, it's great to get a glimpse of the fun video. BET's 106 & Park gave a VIPeek to their viewers yesterday of Beyonce's forthcoming video for her latest singe "Party." While the original track features Andre 3000, it seems as though B has opted to go with the official remix featuring J. Cole per the clip and it should be interesting to see how the final clip turns out. Peep the preview below and lookout for the video later in the week when 106 & Park drops the official video.
