Award Nominations: 2016 GRAMMY Awards

The 2016 GRAMMY Award nominations were announced earlier today and Kendrick Lamar leads this year's nominees with eleven total nominations. The Grammys return to L.A.'s Staples Center on Feb. 15, 2016 on CBS at 8pm EST. No host has been announced yet but you can get into all the award nominations below from the major 4 categories (Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist) to the R&B and Rap categories respectively.

Award Nominations: 2015 MTV Video Music Awards

The nominees have been announced for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and Taylor Swift leads the pack with nine nominations followed by Ed Sheeran with six, Beyoncé and Mark Ronson with five apiece, and Kendrick with four.

For Video of the Year,  Beyoncé and Taylor Swift will face off against one another again this time with Swift's "Bad Blood," featuring Kendrick and Beyoncé’s "7/11. Joining these two pop divas are " Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud," Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" featuring Bruno Mars, and Kendrick's "Alright."

With that said, Miley Cyrus will host the  2015 MTV VMAs which will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 9 p.m. See a full list of nominees below.

Award Nominations: 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards,

Earlier today the 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards were announced a a bit surprisingly, Kendrick Lamar netted three nominations. While they are well deserved, the NAACP Image Awards have often shied away from nominating rap stars and it seems as though Kendrick has broken through.

With that said, Beyoncé and Pharrell topped the nominations with four nominations and you can peep them all below. The 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards is set for Friday, February 6, 2015, with the show set to air live on TV One.

Award Nominations: 57th Annual Grammy Awards

Earlier today, the first batch of nominees for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards were announced. With that said, the Grammys will be held on February 8th, 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will air live on CBS at 8 pm ET.

Award Nominations: "Soul Train Awards 2014"

Today has been a big day for music with both the 2014 American Music Awards and Soul Train Awards 2014 nominations being revealed. Earlier in the day, multiple nominee Jhené Aiko took to The Wendy Williams Show to announce some of the nominees with Williams, who will serve as host for the upcoming award show.

Hosted by Wendy Williams, this year’s Soul Train Awards 2014 will usher itself back to the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on November 7, and will air its telecast simultaneously on Centric and BET on November 30 at 8 p.m. EST. Award Nominations: " 2014 American Music Awards"

Earlier today, the nominees for the 2014 American Music Awards were announced and Iggy Azalea leads the field with six nominations. Interestingly enough, Ariana Grande who has ruled the airwaves this summer with countless singles lifted from her sophomore album My Everything was shutout of the nominations.

Award Nominations 2014 BET Awards

BET announced the nominations for the 2014 BET Awards with nominations being announced in 20 categories spanning the fields of television, film, music and sports.

Beyoncé, Jay Z and Drake of lead the field with five nominations each, while Pharrell Williams and August Alsina follow with four nominations.


The 2014 BET Awards are slated to air live on Sunday, June 29th at 8pm ET on BET  from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, completing the second annual BET Experience.

Award Nominations: 2014 BRIT Awards

The 2014 BRIT Awards announced their nominees earlier today and some of our favorites including Janelle Monáe, James Blake, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Laura Mvula, Birdy, Disclosure and Sam Smith got some love from the nominating committee.

 The 2014 BRIT Awards are slated to air live from London's O2 Arena on February 19, with performances currently from Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and Arctic Monkeys, though I hope Sam Smith and Laura Mvula get added to the lineup.

Award Nominations: 45th Annual NAACP Image Awards

Earlier today, the 45th Annual NAACP Image Awards announced their nominees for the forthcoming 2014 ceremony and in the music category there were a few surprise nominations (Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake) in my opinion and some much deserved recognition (K. Michelle, Emeli Sandé, Laura Mvula, Candice Glover, Ledisi, etc.).

While I can maybe understand the nomination of Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke's inclusion is beyond baffling as he is currently in litigation with Marvin Gaye's estate over his culturally appropriated song "Blurred Lines" which to me goes against what the NAACP stands for.

Either way you feel, I am glad the likes of Ariana Grande, Candice Glover, K. Michelle, Ledisi, Emeli Sandé and Laura Mvula received some NAACP Image Awards nominee love as they have all put out projects and/or material this year that warrant much more attention.

Moments ago, the 56th Annual GRAMMY nominations announced their nominees for the 2014 ceremony and below you will find the R&B, Rap, Pop and Gospel categories in addition to the major four (Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist) Grammy Awards.

Have to say after looking over these major categories, I am surprised at the exclusion of Lorde in Best New Artist and the exclusion of Ariana Grande, K. Michelle, Janelle Monáe and Brandy from a single nomination after all releasing great projects within the GRAMMY nomination time period.

Award Nominations: 2013 Soul Train Awards

The nominations for the 2013 Soul Train Awards were announced yesterday and hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with a total of six nominations including Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Album of the Year.

Tamar Braxton, Miguel, Chris Brown, Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake follow right behind Kendrick with five nominations a piece. With that said, the 2013 Soul Train Awards are slated to tape on November 9th at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and will air simultaneously on BET and Centric at 9pm EST on December 1st.

The BET Awards 2013 nominations were released earlier today and Drake leads the pack with a total of 12 nominations. Following behind with eight each, Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz share the second most nominations followed then by A$AP Rocky who nabbed five. Miguel still riding high off of her "breakout" single "Adorn" grabs four while Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West  earned three apiece. Centric TV's "Soul Train Awards 2011" has just recently released their nominations for the forthcoming November 17th Awards ceremony. Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, Chris Brown leads the nominations with 5, while Beyonce and Kanye West follow suit with four nominations each. Elsewhere, Adele and Marsha Ambrosius scoop up three nominations each and it should be interesting to see how the field ends up at the end of the day when the awards are handed out in ATL this coming November.
