Second Listen: "Cherish the Day" (Robert Glasper Experiment & Lalah Hathaway)

With the release of Black Radio 2 almost two years ago, a lot more people, myself included revisited Robert Glasper's Grammy-winning LP Black Radio, which features a who's who in music today, just as its followup Black Radio 2 does.

With that said, my clear favorite from the first LP in the Black Radio series has to be the Lalah Hathaway assisted take on the Sade classic "Cherish the Day." Therefore, take a second listen below to Lalah Hathaway and Robert Glasper Experiment's amazing collaboration on Sade's "Cherish the Day" and Enjoy!

Remix: "Move Love (Bossa Soula Remix)" (Robert Glasper ft KING)

Was going through an old playlist today and rediscovered the brilliance of  Ahmed Sirour’s Bossa Soula remix of Robert's "Move Love" featuring KING. This joint just never gets old for me and I can't believe I haven't had this in my current rotation as the instrumentation and vocals are just sublime.

Ahmed's remix came about through Robert Glasper who created a remix competition that Ahmed Sirour’s Bossa Soula remix won. Take a listen below to "Move Love (Bossa Soula Remix) and Enjoy! (FYI last time I checked, it's a free download, so if I was you, I would get on that ASAP).

Live Audio: "Say Yes" (Marsha Ambrosius & Robert Glasper Experiment)

During a soundcheck for one of Robert Glasper Experiment's tour in support of their first studio album Black Radio, Marsha Ambrosius and Robert Glasper opted to perform the Floetry classic "Say Yes" during said soundcheck to get the microphone levels together.

While it is unclear where this audio originated, I am just glad that it hit the net as Marsha is just phenomenal on "Say Yes" and hopefully one day she will give us a live album because there is just something special about a live Marsha vocal. Either way, take a listen below to "Say Yes and Enjoy!

Nominated for a Grammy last year for Best R&B Performance, "Gonna Be Alright (F.T.B.)" is one of those perfect smooth grooving Sunday jams that the Robert Glasper Experiment and Ledisi constructed effortlessly.

Though it lost out to Miguel's "Adorn," "Gonna Be Alright (F.T.B.)" is such a gem that deserves more attention as Ledisi's vocals coo perfectly with the Robert Glasper Experiment's instrumentation.

With that said, as Ledisi headlines her tour The Truth Tour with the Robert Glasper Experiment opening up for her, I thought it would be nice to take a second listen below to "Gonna Be Alright (F.T.B.)"!

Last year, I had the pleasure of attending Robert Glasper's concert at The Roxy here in Los Angeles and seeing as it was Grammy weekend, everybody was in the house to take part in the Robert Glasper Experiment.

With that said, one of the highlights from the night was Lalah Hathaway's collaboration on Sade's "Cherish The Day" and while video from that night seems to of only found its way on the net in bits and pieces, I thought it would be appropriate to peep this live performance of their collaboration from the Highline Ballroom.

Since the Robert Glasper Experiment released their second LP Black Radio 2 earlier today, I thought it would be appropriate to revisit the set's lead sing;e, the Jill Scott assisted joint "Calls."

While the set boats a lot of great collaborations, including my personal favorites the Brandy assisted "What Are We Doing" and Emeli Sandé collaboration "Somebody Else," "Calls" was an instant classic in my book and boats a phenomenal vocal showing from Scott as well as some great lush instrumentation from the likes of Glasper and crew.

New Joint: "Somebody Else" (Robert Glasper Experiment ft. Emeli Sandé)

Everything I've heard from the Robert Glasper Experiment's forthcoming album Black Radio 2 has been on point and I of course have already pre-ordered the digital and physical release that is slated for release on October 29th.

With that said, Jill Scott's phenomenal collaboration with the Robert Glasper Experiment (RGE) in the form of "Calls" has led the project thus far, another new collaborative joint from the album has hit the net, this time from Scottish singer/songwriter Emeli Sandé in the form "Somebody Else."

Featuring her BRIT winning vocal chops, Emeli further proves why she deserves to be bigger here in the States than she currently is and why she is a superstar around the world. Featuring a powerful message that "if I was somebody else, it never happened to me," the song is another clear standout from the highly anticipated set.

Therefore, take a listen below to "Somebody Else" from RGE and Emeli Sandé and lookout for Black Radio 2 when it's released on October 29th!

New Video: "Calls" (Robert Glasper Experiement ft. Jill Scott)

Earlier this morning, the official video for Jill Scott's collaboration with the Robert Glasper Experiment hit the net. While the song "Calls" has been out for a couple of months now, it's nice that the song it receiving the official video treatment that it deserves as it is one of my favorite jams of 2013.

Jill Scott of course looks amazing in a throwback 1920s attire that when placed next to several mannequins in the video, puts them to shame! Lifted as the first single from Black Radio 2, the official video for "Calls" matches the smooth vibe of the record perfectly and you can watch it below!

New Joint: "What Are We Doing" (Robert Glasper Experiment ft. Brandy)

Robert Glasper is set to release his latest collaborative album under the Robert Glasper Experiment on October 29th with Black Radio 2 and the project is highly anticipated after its 2012 predicesor Black Radio went onto win a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album earlier this year.

With that said, the latest installment was led off by the brilliant Jill Scott collaboration "Calls" and boasts a sublime roster of talent including the likes of Marsha Ambrosius, Anthony Hamilton, Snoop Dogg, Common, Dwele, Emeli Sandé, Brandy and more.

While we are a few weeks away from the set's release, the Robert Glasper Experiment's collaboration with Brandy on "What Are We Doing" hit the net last night when a radio rip of hit became available and I thought it would be appropriate to share it with you as their collaboration with Brandy was one of the highly anticipated tracks off of the new album for me.

Therefore, take a listen to the radio rip of "What Are We Doing" below and lookout for Black Radio 2 when it's released on October 29th!

New Joint: "I Stand Alone" (Robert Glasper Experiment ft. Common & Patrick Stump)

After winning a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album earlier this year for Black Radio, the Robert Glasper Experiment are set to release the official sequel, Black Radio 2, on October 29th. With less than a month to go until it's release, a new single "I Stand Alone" has hit the net following the Jill Scott assisted "Calls."

Featuring some solid verses from Common and a dope chorus via Fall Out Boy's lead vocalist Patrick Stump, "I Stand Alone also features academic Michael Eric Dyson at the end of the track discussing the the value in originality during the age of mechanical reproduction.

With that said, take a listen after the jump to "I Stand Alone" and lookout for Black Radio 2 on October 29th as the set offers up another dope line-up this time featuring the likes of Brandy, Jill Scott, Dwele, Marsha Ambrosius, Anthony Hamilton, Faith Evans, Norah Jones, Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, Emeli Sandé and Lalah Hathaway.

Bilal's latest album A Love Surreal was released towards the top of this year via eOne and the famed crooner is still promoting his solid LP with the just released official video for his Robert Glasper assisted joint "Butterfly." 

Lifted as the latest single from A Love Surreal, the black-and-white visual features footage of Bilal in rehearsal, traveling in the airport in addition to him performing "Butterfly" on stage. Watch Bilal's latest official music visual for "Butterfly" and Enjoy!
