Second Listen: "No Air" (Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown)
I was watching BET Soul last night and the video for Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown collaboration "No Air" came on during one of the channel's mixes and I was instantly reminded of this 2000s sweetheart classic.
Lifted from Jordin Sparks' debut album and produced by The Underdogs, this 2007 hit took me back a bit and I can't believe I forgot about this gem from Sparks and Brown. With that said, take a second listen below to "No Air" and Enjoy!

New Joint: "It Ain't You" (Jordin Sparks)
It's been a few years since Jordin Sparks' 2009 Battlefield LP but a few weeks ago, she released her first mixtape #ByeFelicia, which introduced fans and casual listeners to a more adult, cocky and sensual Jordin who has clearly grown-up and lived since her sophomore album over five years ago.
With that said, the first single lifted from her mixtape is the DJ Mustard produced "It Ain't You" and while Jordin's powerhouse vocals have been replaced by a sing/talk vocal performance, it's an interesting new direction from the American Idol winner.
Therefore, take a listen below to her new joint "It Ain't You" and decide if you are rocking with her new sound!

New Joint: "11:11 (Wish)" (Jordin Sparks)
Jordin Sparks is all grown up since she was crowned the youngest American Idol back in 2007 and now, she has released a solid smooth slow jam in the form of "11:11 (Wish)" to celebrate the occasion last night.
Written by Elijah Blake and produced by Salaam Remi, "11:11 (Wish)" is a sexy slow jam from Jordin and time will tell if her forthcoming third album will sonically find itself more inline with grown and sexy R&B, or possibly a different vibe.

Trailer: "The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete" (Jennifer Hudson & Jordin Sparks)
Earlier this year at Sundance, George Tillman Jr.'s The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete premiered and while there was a little buzz on the film, for newcomer Skylan Brooks and Jennifer Hudson in an against-type performance, not much has come the way of news about the film until now.
Lionsgate, who acquired the distribution rights for The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, have just recently released an official trailer for the film that is a coming-of-age story of two abandoned and scared boys trying to survive in New York City. Slated for a limited release on October 11th, hopefully the film will pick up steam and buzz and the trailer reveals potential Oscar buzz performances from Skylan Brooks and Jennifer Hudson.
With that said, peep the official trailer for The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, which co-stars Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Jeffrey Wright and Anthony Mackie after the jump and Enjoy!

New Joint: "One Wing" (Jordin Sparks)
I had the pleasure of seeing "Sparkle" yesterday and R. Kelly did his thing hands down on re-crafting some of Curtis Mayfield's classic in addition to writing several new songs for the film. "One Wing" is just one of Kelly's original contributions and was one of best songs recorded for the film's soundtrack in my opinion. Jordin Sparks turns in a powerhouse vocal performance that we haven't heard from her in a while and I might dare say is her best recorded showing to date. With that said, take a listen below to "One Wing" and Enjoy!

Project in the Works: "The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete" (Jennifer Hudson & Jordin Sparks)
While Jennifer Hudson was the lone star attached to "The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete," production began earlier this week in Brooklyn with fellow American Idol alum Jordin Sparks attached to co-star along with Anthony Mackie and Jeffrey Wright. The George Tillman Jr. directed film tells the tale of two inner-city youths left to fend for themselves over the summer after their mothers are taken away by the authorities. While no release date has been set, it would appear that this drama has Oscar bait written all over it if the script and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson and acclaimed actors Anthony Mackie and Jeffery Wright portray the caliber of performances they have been known to deliver. While Jordin Sparks makes her film debut next month in "Sparkle," it seems as though she is amping up a successful acting career of her own.
