Second Listen: "Where Peaceful Waters Flow" (Gladys Knight & The Pips)

On Gladys Knight and The Pips' 1973 album "Imagination," there lies one of my favorite gems from the group entitled "Where Peaceful Waters Flow." Though it was released as a single and peaked at #28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #6 on the Hot Rhythm & Blues Singles chart, the song is often forgotten among the subsequent single releases from the album which included "Midnight Train to Georgia" and "Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me." With that said, take a first or second listen below to "Where Peaceful Waters Flow" and let Gladys' sublime vocals take you to that calm soothing place.

  1. Yes, this is one of Gladys best forgotten songs. I wish she would do this one in concert. This was written by the same writer of "Midnight Train", "Neither One Of Us" and "Best Thing" country singer Jim Weatherly. It is amazing how much soul Gladys adds to these songs.
