While Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Florence Welch, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Jessie J were already announced as the headliners for VH1's forthcoming Vh1 Divas Celebrates Soul, Erykah Badu, Marsha Ambrosius and Boyz II Men have been added the the already powerful lineup. In addition the legendary Chaka Khan, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Estelle, and Travie McCoy are also slated to appear/perform during the tribute show honoring soulful cities.
While the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin is blatantly missing from this strong soulful slew of performers, other soul legends such as Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Gladys Knight and the Pips (to name a few) would be welcomed additions to this phenomenal show. Also soul singer Ledisi really deserves a spot on this show if you ask me and with the anointing from some of soul music's greats it's a shame that she is currently mia from this lineup.
Either way it ends up lookout for VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul to premiere on Monday, December 19th at 9 p.m. ET/8 CT on VH1.
