The 17th Annual Essence Music Festival which will be held in New Orleans July 1st through 3rd has announced that its themes this year is “the roots of R&B.” With a headlining line-up that includes Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige and Kanye West, the festival is primed to have one of its biggest years yet. Also on the main stage Boyz II Men, Charlie Wilson, Fantasia and Trey Songz will join the different headlining acts and MC Lyte, Mavis Staples, Tank, Dwele, Macy Gray, Kelly Price, and Mint Condition have also been confirmed to be making appearances.
