Cut: "So Emotional" (Whitney Houston)

On this day in 1988, Whitney Houston notched her sixth of a record seven consecutive Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, as "So Emotional" rose from #2 to the top spot on the charts. Lifted as the third single from Whitney Houston's second album Whitney, Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly wrote the uptempo banger while Narada Michael Walden produced it.

While it is one of Whitney's countless #1 hit singles, it is often forgotten about in her vast discography that includes such iconic songs as "I Will Always Love You," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)," "I Have Nothing," "Greatest Love of All" and "How Will I Know."

With that said, take a listen below to Whitney's #1 hit and cut "So Emotional" below and Enjoy!
