D'Angelo is definitely in the midst of waging a "comeback" and the famed singer/songwriter opted to perform a cover of the Funkadelic 1976 joint "Soul Mate" during his GQ interview/photoshoot earlier last year. Featured on the funk band's 1976 album Hardcore Jollies, it was a B-side to their single "Smokey" and I am glad D'Angelo went back into the vault and brought us this classic.
