I am giving a guest lecture next week on the Queen of Soul, Ms. Aretha Franklin and before I give my lecture, I wanted to reminisce her brilliance with one of my favorite joints from her discography, "Spirit In The Dark." Lifted from the album of the same name back in 1970, the following performance of the Queen crooning out a sublime rendition of "Spirit In The Dark," is the stuff of icons and legends.
