Project in the Works: Marvin Gaye Biopic (Lenny Kravitz)
While Lenny Kravitz has been seen more and more on the big screen with supporting roles in "Precious" and "The Hunger Games," it seems as if he might land his first starring role in a forthcoming Marvin Gaye biopic. While several films about Marvin Gaye's life have been in pre-production for years, The Evening Standard is reporting that Lenny Kravtiz is on the fast-track to play the late singer in a biopic revolving around his later years. Slated to be directed by Julian Temple, best known for his documentary "London: The Modern Babylon," the film would chronicle some of the final years of Gaye's life taking note of his time in London from 1981, when he suffered from alcoholism and tax evasion to music promoter Freddy Cousaert's intervention to put him back on track. Time will tell if the film is a go, but hopefully some sort of biopic about Marvin Gaye's life will be made sooner rather than later.
