During the 1997 Grammy Awards, the "Waiting to Exhale" soundtrack received a total of 11 nominations for the hit singles "Sittin' Up in My Room," "Not Gon' Cry," ""Exhale (Shoop Shoop)," "Count on Me," and "It Hurts Like Hell." With that said, the Grammy-winning vocalists Brandy, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, CeCe Winans, Chaka Khan, and Aretha Franklin took to the stage for a rousing medley that showcases off the Babyface compositions.
