While Candice Glover's debut album Music Speaks was released earlier this year, back in February, I feel as though her album didn't get as much promotion and attention as her vocal talents warrant the attention that we have given to some less vocally skilled individuals.

With that said, I am often reminded of her haunting cover of The Cure's "Lovesong" during her stint on American Idol and lucky for fans of hers, it found its way into her debut album with a nice new arrangement to match her smokey vocal performance.

With the release of her highly anticipated debut album Music Speaks earlier today, Candice Glover becomes the first female and Black American Idol winner since Jordin Sparks to release a debut album.

Besides this fact, Candice Glover's set features her riveting and dare I say, American Idol-winning performance of The Cure's "Lovesong." Re-imagined as "Love Song," Candice's emotive rendition on the album is just as powerful as her start-turning live performance of it on the Idol stage and luckily for fans of Candice, she has offered up a performance of "Love Song" during a recent visit to Yahoo Music! to promote Music Speaks.

Last night on American Idol, Candice Glover had "a star is born" moment on the hit reality singing competition with a riveting cover of The Cure's classic "Lovesong." While Adele most recently covered "Lovesong" with a bossa nova rendition on her classic LP 21, Candice hands down in my book offers the more risky and phenomenal rendition which even prompted Mariah Carey to get up from the judge's table and throw glitter on Candice to proclaim her approval. Though it appears as though Adele's "21" is coming to an end of its commercial releases of singles, Adele's sublime rendition of The Cure's Lovesong" is such a  brilliant bossa nova cover. Originally intended as an arrangement for Barbra Streisand, Adele was give the opportunity to record the song and the rest is history. As Adele is roughly midway through her North American tour at the moment and I will be seeing her this coming week, I thought it would be nice to feature one of her amazing covers. With that said, Adele offered up a brilliant bossa nova cover of The Cure's "Lovesong," on her recent smash sophomore album "21." Originally intended as an arrangement for Barbra Streisand, Adele was give the opportunity to record the song and the rest is history. Check out her live performance of the song bellow and Enjoy!

Showcase: Adele Live from The Ed Sullivan Theater

If you're a fan of Adele, you should definitely find the time to checkout this 45 minute showcase that Adele gave yesterday at The Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City. During the brief concert, Adele showcase off her infectious personality as well as her phenomenal voice. Starting the set of with her classic "Hometown Glory", Adele then slides into a beautiful rendition of "Don't You Remember" which is off of her new album "21." Following some banter where she talks about being inspired by Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" and Dolly Parton, Adele takes to the mic again to offer up a smooth silky version of "Turning Tables." Adele then turns up the accompaniment from just a piano to her full band on her Grammy winning hit "Chasing Pavements."

After announcing a possible added date to her tour for the United Palace in NYC, Adele plunges into her covers of The Cure classic "Lovesong" and of Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love." After her amazing covers, Adele lets into her first UK number 1 "Someone Like You," which is off of "21." While the recorded version is nice, Adele's live version of this song is the one that is currently placed atop the UK singles charts and is a very haunting torch ballad. To end her intimate concert, Adele lets loose on her current single "Rolling In The Deep."
