Amazing Cover: "I Will Always Love You" (Zapp & Shirley Murdock)

Back in 1996, Roger and Zapp released their compilation album The Compilation: Greatest Hits II & More which featured some of Zapp's lesser-known singles and album tracks  and some joints from Roger Troutman. With that said, the famed group featured Shirley Murdock ("As We Lay") on their rendition of the then mega-hit and future iconic "I Will Always Love You," which just a few years earlier was made into the biggest song of Whitney Houston's career.

Who would've thought a country song originally by Dolly Parton would go through so many soulful iterations and end up in this funky gospel-tinged Zapp cut. Either way you feel, take a listen below to Zapp & Shirley Murdock transform "I Will Always Love You" and Enjoy!

Amazing Cover: "I Will Always Love You" (Keke Wyatt)

Yesterday, Keke Wyatt took to YouTube to honor the late Ms. Whitney Elizabeth Houston also known as "The Voice" with her #KekeCovers series. Leaving the following message, Keke wanted to honor one of her inspirations and one of the greatest of all-time.

February 11, 2016 marks the four-year anniversary of the passing of one of the greatest voices of all times, Ms. Whitney Houston. She was my inspiration and a vocal force to be reckoned with. In honor of the musical legacy she left behind, I'm paying homage to Whitney with my next installment of #KekeCovers.

With that said, watch Keke's sublime cover of the Whitney Houston Bodyguard classic "I Will Always Love You" below as we continue to honor the late, great Ms. Whitney 'The Voice' Houston.

Amazing Cover: "I Will Always Love You" (Jennifer Hudson)

The biggest musical moment of 2012 for me is hands down the tragic passing of the late Ms. Whitney Houston. With that said, the best cover of 2012 in my book emerged several hours after the icons death when Jennifer Hudson took to the Grammy stage to offer up a somber rendition of Houston's most iconic hit "I Will Always Love You."

I honestly still can't get over Jennifer Hudson's touching Grammy tribute to Whitney Houston during the Grammys. While her stripped down rendition didn't allow Jennifer to truly showcase off her sublime talents, the song and moment didn't call for that and her highly emotional tribute allowed for us to grieve with her, while at the same time respecting Houston's legacy.

Watch her understated, yet powerful memorial performance below as we continue to remember the Ms. Whitney Houston and prepare for the Grammys later tonight.

Amazing Cover: "I Will Always Love You" (Jessica Sanchez)

Jessica Sanchez helped close out Billboard's Whitney Week with a rousing cover of the late icon's signature song "I Will Always Love You." Having risen to fame on American Idol for performing a riveting rendition of the Dolly Parton original ballad, Jessica Sanchez's tribute rendition for Billboard is just as powerful as her American Idol performance and proves why she is a rising vocal star to look out for in 2013. After last night's Whitney Houston Tribute via Vh1 Divas Live, I thought it would be appropriate to revisit Heather Headley's sublime rendition of the Houston classic and Dolly Parton original "I Will Always Love You." Though Jordin Sparks offered a touching rendition of "I Will Always Love You" during last night's 2012 Billboard Music Awards, back in 2010, Jennifer Hudson honored Whitney Houston at the BET Honors ceremony by performing Houston's most icon song. Jennifer stayed true to the Houston version from The Bodyguard, but also added her own vocal twists to the song to make it her own. Though Whitney Houston owned the song during her Bodyguard days, I truly believe that no one other then Houston and Hudson should ever take on this arrangement of the song. While Jordin offering a heartfelt performance, Jennifer offered up the closest thing we will ever come to getting a Houston performance of "I Will Always Love You." Watch the powerful performance below as we all continue to honor the legacy of Whitney Houston.

Amazing Cover: "I Will Always Love You" (Amber Riley)

What will go down as an unintentional but highly powerful and meaningful tribute to the late Whitney Houston is Glee's Amber Riley performing Whitney's iconic classic "I Will Always Love You" on Tuesday night's Valentine's Day themed episode. While Glee possesses some phenomenal talent, no one except Riley in my book from Glee could tackle this monumental song. With that said, take a listen to her touching tribute cover below as we all mourn the loss of an icon.
