Cut: "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" (Aretha Franklin)
It's weird for me to consider the Queen of Soul's "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" because it is one of her numerous #1 R&B hits and also peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974, but it seems as though a lot of younger listeners are unfamiliar with this cur from the Queen and therefore, I thought it would be appropriate to revisit this cut.
The song was originally recorded by Stevie Wonder in 1967, but his version did not appear on an album until 1977's anthology Looking Back. Written by Morris Broadnax, Clarence Paul, and Stevie, Aretha would go onto record her own rendition produced by Jerry Wexler and featured on Ms. Franklin's Let Me in Your Life.
Take a listen below to Aretha Franklin's masterful rendition of "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" and Enjoy!
