Something in my spirit made go back to Fantaisa's "Lose to Win" last night after doing some reading about the political economy of jazz and I thought I would share it as a second listen to her Commodores' 1985 single "Nightshift" sampled joint.
Her smooth mid-tempo "Lose to Win" was a solid reintroduction to the marketplace for Fantasia and it was a great taste for what her album Side Effects Of You had in stores. While the single and album could've been marketed more, as Side Effects Of You has a lot to offer on the single's tip, I'm glad "Lose to Win" made the cut as the set's first single and you can take a second listen to it below!
