Live Clip: "The Star-Spangled Banner" (Jennifer Hudson)
Whitney Houston set the bar back in 1991 during Super Bowl XXV with the best rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" in the history of the anthem and I know that it will never be topped, NEVER.
While Renée Fleming is slated to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" later today during Super Bowl XLVIII, I thought it would be right to witness one of the greatest renditions done in recent years, that of course being Jennifer Hudson's take of the anthem from Super Bowl XLIII.
Even though she is singing to a backing track as most national anthems at the Super Bowl are performed, her rendition is one of the best in recent history and in my opinion the second best following the historic and iconic performance of the late Ms. Whitney Houston.
Therefore, watch Jennifer's powerhouse rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" below as we await to hear Renée Fleming later tonight.
