While we begin to enter into a countdown into 2014 and slowly get ourselves out of the musical haze and euphoria that is Beyoncé self-titled fifth studio album BEYONCÉ, I thought it would be appropriate to take a playback to one of my favorite singles of 2013.
Lifted from Janelle Monáe's recently released LP The Electric Lady, the song served as the set's third official single and one of the most compelling duets to hit the airwaves in years. For a deeper argument on this, Grantland has a great piece about the brilliance of this duet.
With that said, "PrimeTime" in my book never received the visibility that it deserved and neither did Janelle Monáe's brilliant LP The Electric Lady (see lack of GRAMMY nomination love) and hopefully as we close out 2013 people will (re)discover the brilliance of Janelle's phenomenal collaboration with Miguel.
