The Phoenix of Philadelphia Ms. Patti LaBelle was honored with the BET Black Girls Rock "Living Legend Award" earlier tonight during the telecast of the annual award show and before Mama Patti took to the stage, she offered an impassioned performance of her classic cut "You Are My Friend."
While the performances from the telecast haven't hit the net yet, I thought it would be nice to revisit one of Mama Patti's sublime renditions of "You Are My Friend" throughout her over 50 year career in the music business.
