Back in 2006 Amel Larrieux dropped "Weary" as the first single from he album "Morning." Featuring some solid lyrical content and phenomenal vocals, "Weary" became a minor chart hit for Amel. Though in my opinion it should've been shown more love then it was, "Weary" is a perfect second listen song as I am sure the majority of you are familiar with Amel in some form and have probably hear this joint on the fly. With that said, listen below and Enjoy!
Love her Free-Bird vibe. My late brother loved her in Groove Theory and I'm afraid he didn't get a chance to see her go solo. He may have so I hope so. I'm thinking of a few that she's done that stand-out and I really like "Get Down" , "For Real" (love the video too!), and recently caught up on "Sweet Misery". Love the jazz quality to her singing and production. My dad really loved jazz so maybe it equally runs through my veins too. Beautiful woman. Just did a Wikipedia search and found more songs I remember liking, "You Will Rise" I heard on the 1996 Sweetback album, Sade's band, and it's only because I grew up listening to Sade and my parent's loved her that we have this album. Appreciate it more now that I'm older. Noticed on the credits Amel was on this track while listening and recognizing a familiar voice and thought, Great! "Weary" is another amazing track. Real Music.
