The music world lost an icon earlier today as "Soul Train"'s original host and creator Don Cornelius was found dead via an apparent gunshot wound to the head, Cornelius changed the musical landscape for not just Black music, but music in general offering a place to brake new acts and allow establoshed artists to introduce their latest hits. "Soul Train" debuted in 1971 and ran until 2006, making it one of the longest run variety shows in the history of television. Cornelius was 75.
