Curtis Mayfield wrote and produced the film score and soundtrack for the Academy Award nominated 1974 film "Claudine." Though most people don't recall the Gladys Knight & the Pips' joint "On & On," Mayfield wrote and produced the joint and it would become the film's theme song. "On & On" would go onto become a #2 on the Hot Souls charts as well as a #5 hit for Knight and the Pips on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart.
