Live Video of the Day: "Stranger to My Happiness" (Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings)

This past Wednesday, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings stopped by The Ellen DeGenerous Show to promote their just released fifth album Give the People What They Want and during their time on the show, the famed group performed their joint "Stranger to My Happiness."

While it is unclear what the lead single will be to Give the People What They Want as it hasn't been officially announced yet, the Bosco Mann written joint "Stranger to My Happiness" is a sublime choice in my opinion and you can watch Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings' sublime performance below.

New Video: "Retreat!" (Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings)

While Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings put their new album and tour on hold due to Sharon's recent battle with bile-duct cancer, it appears as though Sharon is recovering well as the band just released an official video to their forthcoming sixth studio album's lead single.

Entitled "Retreat!." the accompanying animated visual for their joint fits the vibe of their record perfectly and I can't wait to hear what the group's forthcoming sixth studio album, Give The People What They Want sounds like when it's released in January. Amazing Cover: "Amy Winehouse Tribute" (Vh1 Divas)

While Vh1 is currently in preproduction for the forthcoming Vh1 Divas tribute concert in honor of the Whitney Houston and Donna Summer, I thought we would revisit Vh1 Divas Celebrate Soul's tribute to Amy Winehouse thanks to the legendary Wanda Jackson, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, and Florence Welch from Florence + The Machine. Having gain tremendous inspiration from Wanda Jackson, I feel as though Winehouse would have be extremely honored if she was alive to see one of her idols honoring her. With that said, watch Wanda Jackson and Sharon Jones share the stage on Amy's "You Know I'm No Good" and Florence's take of "Back To Black" below.

Amazing Cover: "Amy Winehouse Tribute" (Vh1 Divas)

During tonight's telecast of Vh1 Divas Celebrate Soul, the legendary Wanda Jackson, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, and Florence Welch from Florence + The Machine honored their own the late Amy Winehouse. Having gain tremendous inspiration from Wanda Jackson, I feel as though Winehouse would be extremely honored if she was alive to see one of her idols honoring her. With that said, watch Wanda Jackson and Sharon Jones share the stage on Amy's "You Know I'm No Good" and Florence's "Back To Black" below and Enjoy!

Live Video of the Day: "Detroit Soul Medley" (Vh1 Divas)

The "Detroit Soul Medley" was my favorite performances medley of the night by far boasting appearances by Sharon Jones of Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Marsha Ambrosius, Martha Reeves from Martha and the Vandellas, Kelly Clarkson, and Ledisi. During the sublime set, Sharon, Marsha, and Martha took on Martha's classic "Nowhere To Run," and then Ledisi and Kelly offered up a phenomenal take on the Queen of Soul's "Chain of Fools." Following this spot on performance, Ledisi shared the stage with Marsha Ambrosius to croon out an aw inspiring version of the Anita Baker classic "Sweet Love." What makes this performance even more spectacular is Ledisi's lack of rehearsal for her star turning performance having received the request to perform just an hour before and walked on stage cold to belt out the show-stealing performance.
