The "Detroit Soul Medley" was my favorite performances medley of the night by far boasting appearances by Sharon Jones of Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Marsha Ambrosius, Martha Reeves from Martha and the Vandellas, Kelly Clarkson, and Ledisi. During the sublime set, Sharon, Marsha, and Martha took on Martha's classic "Nowhere To Run," and then Ledisi and Kelly offered up a phenomenal take on the Queen of Soul's "Chain of Fools." Following this spot on performance, Ledisi shared the stage with Marsha Ambrosius to croon out an aw inspiring version of the Anita Baker classic "Sweet Love." What makes this performance even more spectacular is Ledisi's lack of rehearsal for her star turning performance having received the request to perform just an hour before and walked on stage cold to belt out the show-stealing performance.
