Rare Performance: "A House is Not a Home" (Luther Vandross & Aretha Franklin)

I don't know if you can tell or not, but I am a stan for Luther Vandross. With that said, while reliving a lot of the great moments in his career today, I rediscovered his sublime and rare duet with Ms. Aretha Franklin on his iconic "A House is Not a Home," originally performed by Ms. Dionne Warwick.

While Dionne recorded the original, even she admits that Luther has the definitive version of this classic and his duet with the Queen of Soul on it is something everyone should see.

Therefore watch Luther and Aretha's powerful duet on "A House is Not a Home" below and Enjoy!

Live Audio: "Alfie" (Whitney Houston)

During Whitney Houston's The Bodyguard World Tour, Houston often performed a sublime rendition of the standard "Alfie," made famous by Whitney's cousin Dionne Warwick. With that said, as we continue to mourn the loss of The Voice and honor her legacy, I though it would be right to offer up this live audio that was ripped during one of her 1994 concerts.

Take a listen below to her sublime rendition of "Alfie" and continue to remember Whitney for her talent and the gift she blessed us with throughout the years.

Rare Performance: "Never Too Much" (Dionne Warwick & Luther Vandross)

Back in 1990, Dionne Warwick had a TV special entitled "Dionne & Friends." During the special, Dionne brought out Luther Vandross to duet on his mid-tempo classic "Never Too Much" and I must say that when these two harmonizes, it is something else.

Luther of course covered Dionne's original rendition of "A House is Not a Home" and turned his rendition into the definitive version in my humble opinion. With that said,  peep this rare performance of Dionne Warwick and Luther Vandross on Luther's classic "Never Too Much" below and Enjoy!

Rare Recording: "Alfie" (Chaka Khan)

I'm starting off my May right with this rare recording of Chaka Khan performing a phenomenal cover of the Dionne Warwick classic "Alfie." While I am not sure where or when this recording was made, Khan's legendary vocals are on full display and instead of utilizing her iconic upper register, Chaka lets her smooth lower registers take centerstage. With that said, take a listen below to Chaka Khan's amazing rendition of "Alfie" below and Enjoy!

Amazing Cover: "Anyone Who Had A Heart" (Luther Vandross)

Take a listen to Luther's smooth cover of the Dionne Warwick classic "Anyone Who Had A Heart".  I prefer Vandross' version to Dionne's "Anyone Who Had A Heart," though that maybe a personal bias. Luther had such a great ability to reinterpret a classic and truly make it his own. With that said, take a listen below to Luther's "Anyone Who Had A Heart" and Enjoy!

Amazing Cover: "Anyone Who Had A Heart" (Luther Vandross

Take a listen below to Luther's smooth cover of the Dionne Warwick classic "Anyone Who Had A Heart".  Luther's version in my humble opinion is the superior version to Dionne's and this sublime rendition proves along with the rest of his covers in his discography that Luther had a great ability to reinterpret a classic and make it his own. This cover is no exception to his talents and you can take a listen to it below...Enjoy!
