Elle Varner's forthcoming sophomore album is one of my highly anticipated releases for this year/next as she has teased about working with producers including Pop & Oak, Eric Hudson, DJ Dahi, Da Internz, Hit-Boy, and J. Cole and possibly "inventing" a new genre trap jazz.
With that said, during a spot date in Washington D.C. this weekend, Elle took to the Howard Theatre and performed a rousing set that included material from her debut album Perfectly Imperfect as well as some new gems that might be featured on her upcoming project. For the packed house, Elle opted to perform her new joint "Number One Song," that she previewed in NYC a few months ago and might be the lead single from her forthcoming project.
