Back in 1998, R. Kelly released his double album R and released the joint "When a Woman's Fed Up" from the set. The song reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.
The video, directed by Kelly, features Kelly's protege Sparkle as the woman who's fed up. The single and the video were released after Sparkle's debut single "Be Careful", a duet with Kelly, as a continuation of the story. In fade out the song samples "It Hurts Like Hell" by Aretha Franklin from Waiting to Exhale: Original Soundtrack Album.
