Playback: "Silent Night" (Alexandra Burke)
On Alexandra Burke's 2012 EP "Christmas Gift," the famed UK songstress offers up a solid interpretation of the holiday gem "Silent Night" and with it being Christmas Eve, I thought it would be appropriate to revisit her stripped back rendition of "Silent Night" with those who are celebrating the holiday season.
With that said, take a listen below to Alexandra's take of "Silent Night" and lookout for her forthcoming third LP in 2015 as the official single and video for it have already been rumored to be selected and shot!

New Joint: "Where Do Hearts Go" (Alexandra Burke)
The X Factor UK winner Alexandra Burke has been busy working on her third studio album and attempting to break into the US market and while it is unclear if her new ballad "Where Do Hearts Go" is the official lead single from her upcoming LP or just a taste of what's to come, Alexandra is serving us some smooth vocals on this one.
With her highly anticipated third album slated for release later this year, it should be interesting to see how "Where DO Hearts Go" plays on radio and the charts and if it is the single to help break her here in the States.

Project in the Works: "Lady Sings the Blues" (Alexandra Burke)
I had the privilege of seeing "Motown the Musical" last night on Broadway and after an electrifying night, it seems as a piece of Motown history is going to be commemorated in addition to the legacy of Billie Holliday.
PRESS ANNOUNCEMENT: From Tuesday 4- Saturday 8 June 2013, X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke takes residence in Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room for her own unique concert version of Lady Sings The Blues. Following in the footsteps of her idols Billie Holiday and Diana Ross, Alexandra will perform, with a full jazz band, her own take on the legendary 1972 film soundtrack of the same name.
Starring the queen of Motown, Diana Ross, and nominated for 5 Oscars, Lady Sings the Blues is the classic film and soundtrack that followed the life and career of legendary jazz singer and songwriter Billie Holiday from late childhood to the latter stages of her career and included many of her famous songs. This live concert version, for the first time ever, will revisit this soundtrack as Alexandra and her band put their own spin on these remarkable jazz standards and the life and career of the one of the world’s most cherished performers. Very much in homage to both Billie Holiday and Diana Ross, it seems only fitting that Alexandra performs this show at the Royal Albert Hall nearly 60 years after Billie Holiday made her only appearance at the venue for a special one-off concert in 1954.
Speaking on the shows, Burke said:
"I am so excited to be performing these concerts in such an iconic venue. It is an honour to be able to sing Billie Holiday's songs and I feel a very strong emotional attachment to them. Music is my life and I love doing different and surprising things, so I can't wait to get on stage and sing these amazing and timeless songs."
Tickets go on-sale March 27th at the Royal Albert Hall Box Office: 020 7589 8212 / www.royalalberthall.com

New Video: "Elephant" (Alexandra Burke)
Alexandra Burke is back with the official video for her lead single "Elephant," from her forthcoming sophomore release. While the song takes a more dance/pop flavor then Alexandra's previous work, the X-Factor UK champ proves she is a versatile artist. Though I am not to fond of the autotune used on her voice for effects as she possesses some sublime vocal chops, the song is a banger and the visual matches the vibe of the record.
