Second Listen: "Let's Wait Awhile" (Janet Jackson)

With Janet's Unbreakable era upon us, I thought it would be nice to revisit one of my favorite classic hits from her discography. That of course would be her sublime ballad "Let's Wait Awhile," which was produced by Janet,  Jimmu Jam, and Terry Lewis and co-written along with Melanie Andrews.

Lifted as the fifth single from her classic LP Control, "Let's Wait Awhile,"  was inspired by a conversation Janet had with a friend, as the song speaks of sexual abstinence and postponing intimacy within a relationship.

Surprisingly to some due to the content nature, or unsurprisingly to many because it was a Janet Jackson song, the song was a success on the charts, where it peaked at #2 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts.

With that said, take a second listen below to "Let's Wait Awhile" and Enjoy!
