At the 61st Annual Tony Awards back in 2007, Fantasia graced the stage to performed a "I'm Here" from The Color Purple musical in honor of Regional Theater Tony Winner Alliance Theater in Atlanta, GA, where the show originally premiered.
Fantasia who joined the cast towards the end of its run, but if there was a Tony Award for best replacement in a musical, Fantasia definitely should've received it for her work in the show. I had the pleasure of seeing Fantasia in The Color Purple when it was on Broadway and she shut it down.
