While I've still been enjoying D'Angelo's Black Messiah, I've also been revisiting his discography and of course his sublime duet with Erykah Badu has been gracing my ears as well.

With that said, D'Angelo and Erykah Badu offered a sublime cover of the Marvin Gaye and Tammie Terrell classic "Your Precious Love" back in the mid-1990s as the two were still building their now legendary careers.

Written by Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson, D'Angelo and Badu's cover of "Your Precious Love" is a great reinterpretation and was featured on the High School High soundtrack back in 1996. Listen below to their smooth duet and Enjoy!

Playback: "If This World Were Mine" (Ruben Studdard & Lalah Hathaway)

I wanted to playback Ruben Studdard and Lalah Hathaway's smooth, silky, and soulful (sss) version, of "If This World Were Mine" to celebrate The Velvet Teddy Bear's newly released album Unconditional Love this past tuesday.

Featuring arguable the best soulful male vocalist currently recording (looking at you D'Angelo for a new project) and one of the most slept on vocalists of our generation Lalah Hathaway (who hopefully will get her just dues at the Grammys for her sublime collaboration with Snarky Puppy on "Something"), their smooth rendition of the Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell classic has been on repeat at my crib since I heard it a few few weeks ago.

There are really aren't enough words in my book to say how wonderful this collaboration is and hopefully it will be getting the full single treatment because radio and R&B as a whole needs this right now... back to just sanging!

Luke James and Fantasia teamed up ealrier this year during the 2013 Trumpet Awards to offer a riveting medley of some of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's biggest hits including "You're All I Need to Get By," "Heard It Through The Grapevine" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

With that said, Grammy-winner Fantasia and newcomer and Grammy-nominee Luke James tour it up on stage that night earlier this year in honor of what would've been Marvin Gaye’s 74th birthday. Therefore, watch it below and Enjoy!
