Last night I was talking to my friend Terron about vocalists and somehow we got on the topic of the forever slept on and underrated vocal phenom Rahsaan Patterson. We both agreed that he could chop anyone up in a few notes with his aw-inspiring range and heavenly tone.

With that said, Terron told me to listen to any of his covers of Sade's "Love Is Stronger Than Pride" and so off to YouTube I went and found this sublime live audio recording of him performing this Sade classic in Tokyo from back in 2007.

Grammy Award nominated singer/songwriter Ledisi and her pal, acclaimed music wunderkind Rahsaan Patterson decided to show their raw vocal prowess during a break from filming The Bridge at AOL Studios in Beverly Hills back on October 4, 2007.

The two vocal powerhouses sang on spec -- Bobby Womack's classic 'Stop On By' before seeing Chaka Khans sister/manager Tammy McCrary in the hallway.

Ledisi posted a snippet of this video on her Instagram last night and reminded us all of this brilliant a cappella performance of "Stop On By. With that said, as we honor the legacy of the late Bobby Womack, I thought it would be appropriate to (re)visit this classic below!

Back in April of 2011 at the Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood, Rachelle Ferrell took to the stage with a riveting set and the highlight of the night had to be the impromptu performance of "Love is All Around," which featured no other than vocal phenoms in their own right Lalah Hatahway, Rahsaan Patterson, and Ledisi.

While it seems as though Lalah Hatahway and Rachelle planned on singing "Love is All Around" together, Ledisi and Rahsaan's casual stroll to the stage and vocal adlibswere clearly not planned and what happened after the quartet started going in on stage is nothing short of aw-inspiring. New Joint: "Don't Touch Me" (Rahsaan Patterson)

Rahsaan Patterson has joined forces with RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) to help raise awareness and money for the organization. Having been a victim of of sexual assault himself, Patterson has recorded and released a new joint entitled "Don't Touch Me" to help raise money for RAINN. Rashaan released the following statement, as well as the new song "Don't Touch Me." Listen below to the somber ballad.

"I was sexually assaulted when I was 6-years-old and wasn’t able to share it with my family until I was 18-years-old. Looking back on it, I wish there was an organization like RAINN that I could have turned to for help with dealing with what happened to me,” said Patterson. “After 30 years I finally have an appreciation and love for myself that has been missing for most of my life. The most important thing for me at this point is to be able to communicate through music and art and help others. What happened was extremely traumatic and will forever be embedded in my mind and in my life. It’s nothing I can avoid so it’s really about accepting it, owning it and knowing that it’s happened but it doesn’t have to represent who I am for the rest of my life."

Back in 1997 the original soundtrack for "Hoodlum" was released and featured a sublime cover of the Randy Crawford classic hit "Street Life" by Rahsaan Patterson. Though it has gone almost unnoticed, it deserves a listen or two as Rahsaan really puts an amazing spin on this classic record.
