New Video: "The Love We Had (Stays On My Mind)" (Joss Stone)


Earlier today Joss Stone released the official for her cover of The Dalls' 1971 classic hit "The Love We Had (Stays On My Mind)," which is lifted from her latest album The Soul Sessions Vol. 2. Featuring Joss home alone recounting the loss of her love and desiring his return, the official video for "The Love We Had (Stays On My Mind)" fits the mood of the record perfectly and you can watch it all go down after the jump.

Set: "Live at the Highline Ballroom" (Joss Stone)


Joss Stone performed a rousing set at New York City's Highline Ballroom last night to help build buzz and anticipation for her forthcoming album "The Soul Sessions Vol 2." Performing several of the covers from her latest releas including Womack & Womack's "Teardrops," Stone also performed some of her other joints including "Right To Be Wrong." New Joint: "(For God’s Sake) Give More Power to the People" (Joss Stone)


Joss Stone's forthcoming album "The Soul Sessions Volume 2" is the official sequel of sorts to her debut album 2003's "The Soul Sessions." With that said, the lead single from the effort "(For God’s Sake) Give More Power to the People," is a solid cover of The Chi Lites' 1971 single.  Peep what Joss Stone had to say on the project and take a listen below to her cover of "(For God’s Sake) Give More Power to the People" before the project is released on July 31st
"I really had fun revisiting The Soul Sessions’ idea and I’m really pleased with the results...I’ve committed long term to my label Stone’d Records, but it felt right to team up with Steve Greenberg and S-Curve again for this release. I think there are some great songs on the album and I loved performing them with such brilliant musicians."

Behind the Scenes: Recording "LP1" (Joss Stone)


Joss Stone is gearing up for the promotional rounds for her forthcoming fifth studio album "LP1,"which she will release through Surfdog Records and her own label, Stone’d Record. Scheduled for a July 26th release date, Stone recorded the album in 6 days in Nashville, Tennessee with the assistance of Grammy award winner producer David Stewart. Check out this glimpse bellow of Joss recording some material for her forthcoming album.

Album in the Works: "LP1" (Joss Stone)


It's been a while since we've heard anything musically from Joss Stone, but that is all set to change, when Stone follows up her 2009 album "Colour Me Free," with her forthcoming fifth album 'LP1.'  Since parting from EMI in 2010, Stone has now created her own record label Stone'd Records and Stone is titling her new album 'LP1' as she feels that this is her first album that she has had total creative freedom. The album was recorded in less then a week with producer Dave Stewart and is scheduled to be released on July 26th.
