Amazing Cover: "Imagine" (Cee-Lo Green)

To help ring in 2012, Cee-Lo Green took to NBC's "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" to perform a cover of the John Lennon classic "Imagine." Performed with a passionate delivery, Cee-Lo belted it out just minutes before the ball dropped in Time Square and you can catch his performance below!

Often criticized for her perceived over use of melisma (vocal gymnastics) it appears as though Christina has tamed down her reliance on this vocal technique and is really letting the tone of her powerhouse vocals take centerstage. While I am a fan of melisma, the overuse of it often distracts from the song and Christina's take of John Lennon's "Imagine" really lets the singers vocals shine and not just her technique.
