Interview: Danity Kane

Danity Kane have had some of the highest highs (being the only female group to debut their first two albums at #1 on the Billboard Top 200) and some of the lowest of lows (the disbandment of the group and the loss of some of their members) and the newly minted trio caught up with Vibe Vixen for a recent interview where they discussed what they've learned from social media.

In addition, the trio talked about what they've learned from success, what they've learned from failure, what they've learned from being in a girl group, in addition to what they've learned from the industry. With that said, peep their interview below and lookout for more new music from Danity Kane as I am sure "Lemonade" is just the tip of the iceberg.

New Joint: "Bye Baby" (Danity Kane)

With news that JoJo was released from her Blackground contract hitting the net days ago, Danity Kane has joined her in music news to celebrate as the newly reminted quartet have released their first joint in years in the form of "Bye Baby."

While R&B saw a reinvigorated interest from the masses last year, it should be interesting to see how JoJo and Danity Kane fair with their brand of R&B/pop that has been very successful until both acts were forced into a hiatus.

With that said, Danity Kane's smooth mid-tempo "Bye Baby" is a solid banger from the former Bad Boy group and time will tell if this is the lead single from their highly anticipated forthcoming third set, or if this is just a buzz single to help tide us over as fans and casual listeners have been eagerly awaiting new music from Danity Kane since they officially announced their return and a new single at the 2013 Video Music Awards last year.

Either way it turns out, "Bye Baby" is a dope mid-tempo joint in my book and you can take a listen to it below!

New Joint: "Not Going To Make Me Cry" (Brandy)

While Grammy-winning songstress Brandy is currently busy planning her forthcoming nuptials and working on her highly anticipated followup to 2012's Two Eleven, an unreleased joint from Brandy has hit the net, just in time for Thanksgiving.

While a low quality version has been around the net for a few years now, this high quality version of Brandy's Bryan-Michael Cox produced joint "Not Going To Make Me Cry" has some familiar instrumentation that Danity Kane's "Ride for You" was drawn from.

With that said, take a listen below to Brandy's unearthed "new" joint" "Not Going To Make Me Cry" below and hopefully 2014 will see the release of some new music from Brandy.

Last night during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Danity Kane announced their official reunion and return to music with an upcoming album and lead single "Roar." With that said, after making the official announcement live on MTV about their return, Danity Kane caught up with Billboard to open up about their reunion, upcoming new music, a possibly reality show to accompany their return, as well as what everyone has been up to during their hiatus.

Second Listen: "Sucka for Love" (Danity Kane)

With the return of Danity Kane slated to kick off tonight at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, I thought it would be appropriate to revisit one of the group's standout joints in my book.

Back in 2008, Danity Kane released their second and last LP Welcome to the Dollhouse and it featured my favorite joint from the group "Sucka for Love." Produced and arranged by Bryan-Michael Cox and co-produced by Wyldcard and The Clutch, "Sucka for Love" is a fan favorite of the reunited group and hopefully their announcement later tonight will involve a tour and rumored new album

Either way tonight turns out for Danity Kane, you can take a first or second listen after the jump to their thumping joint "Sucka for Love."

Project in the Works: Danity Kane Reunites

After releasing their sophomore LP Welcome to the Dollhouse to much critically success back in 2008. the band disbanded in 2009 following an on-air firing by Diddy on their MTV series Making The Band. While the details are still a bit hazy on why Danity Kane was fired/disbanded, fans of the gril group have been eager for a comeback as there seems to be unfinished business with the quintet.

Fast-forward three years since the groups disbandment, and four of the original five members are back with a revamped  Danity Kane website and a special announcement slated to occur live during the 2013 VMAs at 8:15pm EST.

While speculation of a reunion has been running rampant throughout the summer as the group, minus D Woods grabbed lunch and have taken photos of themselves in the studio, nothing was certain until earlier this week when a rumored VMA appearance leaked.

With that said, keep it locked during the MTV VMAs to see what the announcement is.... possibly a live performance of a song "Rage"  from the newly minted Danity Kane as the hashtag rage has been accompanied by several of their official twitter handle's tweets.

While rumors of a Danity Kane reunion have been swirling around since four of the original members grabbed lunch in Los Angeles a few weeks ago, Pacific Rim Video Press caught up with Dawn Richard who opened up about the absence of D.Woods from the lunch, the potential Danity Kane reunion, and issue of maintaining relevancy. With that said, peep the interview after the jump and fingers-crossed we get a DK reunion come 2014!
