With what appears to be signs that Ariana Grande and Republic Records are gearing up to release her third album in a few months, I thought we'd take it back to her debut album Yours Truly, which was just released back in 2013.
With that said, I purchased Ariana Grande's debut album Yours Truly and was pleasantly surprised and taken aback by a lot of the material on her debut album. For such a young vocal talent, she certainly has phenomenal vocal chops in addition to some great songwriting skills.
Case and point, her co-penned joint "Honeymoon Avenue," which kicks off Yours Truly. Co-written by Grande, Khris Riddick-Tynes, Leon Thomas, Antonio Dixon, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Thomas Brown, Travis Sayles, Dennis Aganee Jenkins, and Victoria Monet, in addition to being produced by The Rascals, Babyface and Dixon, "Honeymoon Avenue" combines Ariana's melisma fueled vocals with some touching lyrics that I am sure a lot of us have felt at one point in our lives.
