Today in 1995, D'Angelo released his debut album Brown Sugar and one of the highlights from his landmark debut album was his sublime cover of the Smokey Robinson classic "Crusin'."
Originally released in 1979 from Smokey's Where There's Smoke LP, D'Angelo's rendition brought "Crusin'" into the neo-soul phenomena and became a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
