I'm reposting this brilliant cover from Laura Mvula from a few days ago, because I have had it on heavy rotation and repeat since I fist originally heard it earlier this week.
I have now had the pleasure of seeing 12 Years a Slave and while trolling through the soundtrack on iTunes, I came across Laura Mvula's brilliant cover of the standard "Little Girl Blue."
Offering a simple piano arrangement that really allows Laura's vocals to take center stage and shine, her emotive interpretation of "Little Girl Blue" really struck me to my core and warrant a listen or two below in my humble opinion.
