One of the most highly anticipated films of the year 12 Years a Slave is currently in limited release and the official soundtrack for the film is slated to hit iTunes on November 5th before it's released physically on November 19th.
Featuring the likes of Hans Zimmer, Alicia Keys, Alabama Shakes and John Legend, John offers up a sublime rendition of the Negro Spiritual, "Roll Jordan, Roll."
Speaking on his inclusion on the film's soundtrack, John states:
"12 Years a Slave is such a stunningly powerful film. I was so moved when I saw it. I felt every minute of it and was so inspired to contribute to the music of the soundtrack. This album brings together some incredible artists from different places and different genres who have all been touched by the film. When artists are inspired by great art, it makes us want to create. This album is the result of that inspiration."With that said, take a listen below to John Legend's rendition of "Roll Jordan, Roll" and lookout for the film's soundtrack Music From and Inspired by 12 Years a Slave when it hits iTunes on November 5 and in stores on November 19.
