John Legend took to "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" earlier this year after the Grammy Awards to perform his cover of the Nina Simone classic "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free." John's rendition is a funkier version of the classic which showcases the crooner with a tambourine in hand and taking it home with the band. Legend recorded his take on his Grammy winning album "Wake Up", which was a collaboration with The Roots. Check his performance out below and Enjoy!
