Last night I had the please of witnessing Ledisi's sublime "Pieces Of Me" tour as it made its way into Los Angeles. While Ledisi's set was too short in my opinion (coming from a biased fan who wanted at least 4 more hours of set time lol), Ledisi amazed and continues to grow as an artist and performer. Though her set was filled with her classic hits and new material from her latest album "Pieces Of Me," the allotted time didn't allow Ledisi to delve into the entirety of her discography (because we would've been there all night willingly jamming!)
With that said, one of my favorite joints from her discography is her sublime take of the Duke Ellington classic "In A Sentimental Mood."Lifted from her sophomore jazz album "Feeling Orange but Sometimes Blue
," Ledisi croons and coos a phenomenal version of the song and offers up in my opinion one of, if not the best vocal version of the song to date. Take a listen below and let Ledisi's legendary vocals take you to a higher place... Enjoy!
