Back in 1963, The Drifter's released "On Broadway" which would go onto peak at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100. George Benson's version of "On Broadway", from his 1978 album "Weekend In L.A.", recorded live at the West Hollywood Roxy Theater, was an even bigger hit than The Drifters' original, hitting #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and would earn the crooner a Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
