Back when UNCF's "An Evening of Stars" honoring Aretha Franklin aired, Ruben Studdard performed a sentimental favorite of the Queens entitled "Angel." Written by her late sister Carolyn Franklin, Ruben's vocals took the Queen to a place few singers ever do. Though Studdard was sick while performing and hit a few bum notes, those perceived mistakes only added to the emotion of the song and it really struck a cord with the Queen of Soul.
