Back in October of 2012, Jennifer Hudson co-hosted an Obama fundraiser with Katy Perry and Stevie Wonder to raise money for his reelection campaign and though the event took place a few years ago, it's never too late to watch a solid video of Jennifer Hudson's interpretation of the Sam Cooke classic "A Change Is Gonna Come."

I was having a conversation last night about who I thought were some of the best male singers of all time and no surprise, Sam Cooke was among my top 6 of all time for not only being a vocal trailblazer  but for also having such a sharp and clear tone.

With that said, back in 1964, Sam Cooke recorded and released his live album Sam Cooke at the Copa and one of the numerous standouts from this collection is his rendition of "This Little Light of Mine." At UNCF's 30th Anniversary An Evening of Stars Tribute, Patti LaBelle was the legend being honored and at the end of a wonderful tribute, Patti got up and belted out a phenomenal version of "A Change Is Gonna Come."

While the TV version shows Patti accepting her award and then going into a spirited rendition of this classic, you never get to see and hear the entire song. I was at the Princeton Record Exchange a few years ago and came across this gem of a record, Sam Cooke's third solo LP Tribute To The Lady - Billie Holliday.

With that said, the first joint on the vinyl edition of Tribute To The Lady - Billie Holliday, is Sam's touching rendition of "Good Morning Heartache" and the famed crooner of course offers a solid interpretation of the iconic standard.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to get my tickets for Beyoncé and Jay-Z's co-headlining tour On The Run later today and as we all get ready to purchase our tickets, I thought it'd be nice to revisit a performance from Beyoncé's 2013 tour The Mrs. Carter Show.

Last year, Beyoncé brought her The Mrs. Carter Show to The Palace of Auburn Hills located just outside of Detroit and the Grammy-winning songstress performed an impassioned rendition of the Sam Cooke classic "A Change Is Gonna Come"to honor the Motor City, which recently filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy.

During Monday's telecast of the 2014 BET Honors, they closed out the ceremony with a touching tribute to the late Nelson Mandela and what better person to honor the fallen civil rights activist than the Queen of Soul who was honored that night.

Opting to perform a touching rendition of the Sam Cooke classic, Ms. Aretha Franklin's riveting performance of "A Change Is Gonna Come" is just further evidence in my book as to why she is considered by many to be the best singer of all time.
