Remix: "Thinking Bout You (SBTRKT Remix)" (Frank Ocean)

One of my favorite remixes of 2011 was SBTRKT's remix of Frank Ocean's "Thinking Bout You." While Ocean probably wasn't involved in this remix whatsoever, I'm glad that SBTRKT put his own touch on this joint and hopefully the two can work on some original music as Ocean is putting the finishing touches on his highly anticipated sophomore album.

New Joint: "Temporary View" (SBTRKT ft. Sampha)

A few days late on this, but SBTRKT has a new joint out with the assistance of Sampha, and I swear when these two collaborate together it is always magic. With that said, SBTRKT's new joint is entitled "Temporary View" and features SBTRKT's trademark sounds overlaid with Sampha's distinct vocals.

While the SBTRKT production already appeared on his recently released Transitions project, it is unclear if Sampha's riff in the form of "Temporary View" was an outtake from the project or potentially lifted from an upcoming project.

New Joint: "Hold The Line" (SBTRKT)

SBTRKT has been hard at work on his forthcoming album and ahead of its release, he sent over a new joint in the form of "Hold The Line" to Mary Ann Hobbs over at BBC Radio 6, which featured just a sublime instrumentation from the producer/DJ.

SBTRKT also included a note about the song stating:

"These tracks will form a collection of vinyl 12 inches before my next album and its singles, maybe a digital release too. They will be out in the next couple of months. All instrumental stuff along the lines of the music I put out on Ramp or the early Young Turks releases, transitioning between my last album and the next one."

Preview: "Runaway" (SBTRKT ft. Jessie Ware, Tic & Sampha)

A few days ago, famed producer and DJ SBTRKT helped bring in 2014 in Tulum, Mexico and during his set, he dropped a new joint in the form of his Jessie Ware, Tic and Sampha collaboration on "Runaway."

While Sampha's vocals are much older than the track, two years according to SBTRKT who released the the message "last track from my set last night. collab with friends jessie ware, tic and a sprinkle of sampha from 2 years back! happy 2014," "hopefully the full version that he played during New Years Eve will find its way to the net because SBTRKT has only released a preview of the joint thus far on his official Soundcloud page.

Remix: "Girls Love Beyoncé" (SBTRKT)

One of my favorite remixes of 2013 has to go to Famed producer SBTRKT's take on Drake's ode to Beyoncé with  "Girls Love Beyoncé.

Giving Drake's original "Girls Love Beyoncé" a facelift with a solid remix treatment that blends the original vibes of Drake's record with some of the mysterious sounds that SBTRKT is known for, SBTRKT's remix is one of the remix highlights of the year for me.

Written, produced and mixed by Sampha, "Without" is lifted from his forthcoming EP "Dual," which is set for release on July 29th. New Video: "Trails of the Past" (SBTRKT feat. Sampha)

Frequent collaborators SBTRKT and Sampha  released another official visual for their collaboration on "Trials of the Past," which is lifted from SBTRKT's self-titled debut LP SBTRKT. Though the set was originally released in 2011, SBTRKT is finding more juice from his standout debut and the "Sweeney Todd" inspired visual that is directed by Ross Anderson fits perfectly for "Trials of the Past." Amazing Cover: "Blue Cassette" (SBTRKT featuring Sampha)

SBTRKT along with Sampha performed a cover of Friendly Fires's joint "Blue Cassette" during their  visit to BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge earlier this year as a part of the program's infamous cover session. Though I wasn't too familiar with the Friendly Fire's original, after taking a listen to it, SBTRKT and Sampha did a solid job. With that said, take a listen below to their amazing cover and Enjoy!

SBTRKT released self-titled debut LP "SBTRKT" towards the tail end of last year and the set featured a lot of solid experimental joints. With that said, my favorite joint off of the album is "Hold On," which features some solid vocals from Sampha. "Hold On" is a great smooth mid-tempo and this collaboration deserves a few listens, let a lone a first or second. With that said, take a listen below and Enjoy!

Amazing Cover: "Blue Cassette" (SBTRKT featuring Sampha)

SBTRKT along with Sampha performed a cover of Friendly Fires's joint "Blue Cassette" during their visit to BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge as a part of the program's infamous cover session. SBTRKT recently made a quick remix of Frank Ocean's "Whip Appeal," which debuted a few weeks ago. With that said, the masked Producer/DJ tweaked the track a bit a provided a brief message about what he did.

SBTRKT's Sampha assisted single "Hold On" from his debut set has finally gotten the official visual treatment. While SBTRKT and Sampha are mia from the visual, this theatrical video for "Hold On" is a solid accompaniment for what I think is the best joint from his album. Watch it below and Enjoy!
