Second Listen: "Rescue Me" (Fontella Bass)

With the passing of Fontella Bass last night, I thought it would be appropriate to revisit her most remembered and iconic hit "Recuse Me." Topping the R&B charts with "Rescue Me" in 1965, Fontella Bass will forever be remembered through this thumping classic that truly stands the test of time. Bass died Wednesday night at a St. Louis hospice of complications from a heart attack suffered three weeks ago and while she will be missed, her life will live on through her discography that is highlighted by "Rescue Me." Take a listen below to her iconic "Recuse Me" as we honor the legacy of the late Fontella Bass.

Live Video of the Day: "Rescue Me" (Sharon Jones & Ledisi)

Sharon Jones and Ledisi opened up the Chicago soul tribute during Vh1's Divas Celebrate Soul and the duo took on the Fontella Bass classic "Rescue Me." Of course both of these talented vocalists are highly capable of taking on this classic and they both crooned out a sublime rendition of "Rescue Me." With that said, watch their sublime rendition below and Enjoy!
